Review: Long Way Home

Long way home

RECOMMENDED FOR READERS 18 AND UP DUE TO SEXUAL SITUATIONS AND MILD VIOLENCE

Shane McCanton and Tessa Kelly were childhood enemies. Everything was a contest to them and Tessa always seemed to show Shane that nice guys finished last. Things change, however, when hormones take over and Shane begins to see the perpetual thorn-in-his-side as more than just his childhood nemesis…

Tessa had never meant to set into motion events that led to their
childhood rivalry, but once it started, she embraced it with
gusto…until her life events pulled them apart. Tessa’s decision to
enlist in the Army after high school left Shane bewildered and aching
for her while he was in college. Through separation, their hearts held
true to the other. Every reunion strengthened their bond, every
obstacle made them stronger. When Tessa’s world started to fall apart, she struggled with where her life had taken her, and where their future would lead. Until she realized that Shane was the one constant in her life, her rock who would never leave her and help her find her Long Way
Home…

Let me start off by saying……Grab a box of tissues before reading this. It’s a tear-jerker for sure! I could tell just by reading the first couple chapters. I laughed and cried and was mad and sad. This book takes you through so many different emotions it’s a total change from the normal childhood romance novel. I loved how it’s starts from them meeting on their first day of kindergarten and goes through till their 30’s. I wished it had shown more of what they went through throughout high school. It was pretty vague on some of their details but the rest of the story was amazing. It definitely kept me on my toes, even up to the very last page! I couldn’t put it down….No literally i had my kindle strapped to my hand all day long. Yes, i read it all in one sitting! I barely took a  break for eating and letting my puppies outside! The story line was good with a lot of twists and turns throughout. I almost had to throw my kindle across the room until i read the last page! Shane is the most wonderful and caring guy any woman could ever ask for! Tessa had always know what she wanted from that very first day she met Shane. Ann Vaughn does an amazing job at sucking her readers into her books. She did an amazing job! This is just the first book of the home series.
